Printable Version of the NVC Feelings List

I first developed an accessible, mobile-friendly version of this site’s NVC List of Feelings using a list developed by the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) as a base.

At the time, CNVC asked that the following copyright information be added:

(c) 2005 by Center for Nonviolent Communication
Website: www.cnvc.org Email: cnvc@cnvc.org
Phone: +1.505.244.4041

So I did that, adding asterisks next to a few feelings I added to their list. Here’s a PDF version of how I did that, with copyright information of page 3.

Over time I’ve expanded the list more and more, inspired by what Marshall Rosenberg says in chapter 4 of his seminal book, Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life.

The mature person becomes able to differentiate feelings into as many nuances, strong and passionate experiences, or delicate and sensitive ones as in the different passages of music in a symphony.

Meanwhile, yesterday I learned that my link to the CNVC list is broken. I searched their site and it appears that their list is no longer publicly available on the Web.

As a result I’ve created a printable version of my Wise Speech list. At the same time, I’ve gone ahead and deleted CNVC’s copyright information since my list has diverged more and more from their version, plus their’s is no longer publicly available.

Finally, thank you to CNVC for giving people easy access to their list for almost 20 years and allowing people like me to use their list.
